Hospital of Choice for Thousands The people of Douglas County were eager for the opening of Sky Ridge Medical Center. Some, however, were a bit more eager. As Douglas County's first hospital, the doors officially opened for the first time at 7 a.m. August 20, 2003, and the first baby born at Sky Ridge greeted the world 52 minutes later. As a new facility, we have the latest technologies and equipment available: Cardiac services includes two interventional catheterization labs. The Cancer Center offers chemotherapy plus radiation therapy via a highly precise, 3-D radiation system. Orthopedic services include care for spine, joints and sports injuries. Women's and children's services at Sky Ridge are extensive. Because this is an area with lots of families, Sky Ridge is ready. Board-certified pediatricians on staff 24 hours a day. And, our Level III trauma center, with around-the-clock emergency care and orthopedic surgeons available 24/7, is ready to meet the demands of the community.
Develops and maintains systems to promote high levels of patient, employee and physician satisfaction; as well as external customer satisfaction. Assumes 24-hour department accountability. Responsible for assuring adequate staffing and maintaining appropriate productivity standards. Oversees unit Environment of Care and other key regulatory functions. The Clinical Manager demonstrates an understanding of the budget process and staffing plan, implementing cost-effective strategies in staffing and supply management decisions. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients in designated areas. Ability to perform all duties outlined in the job description of Respiratory Therapist dept. 754. Participates in interviewing, mentoring, coaching, evaluating and disciplining process. Develops unit specific goals including: program development, quality improvements and patient safety initiatives. Develops and implements unit specific competencies annual performance of staff. The Clinical Manager supports the mission, vision, values, goals and objectives of Sky Ridge Medical Center and Health One/HCA organization.
I. Position Requirements:
Maintains current licensure
Current BLS certification
Current ACLS certification
Current PALS certification within 6 months from hire date.
Bachelor s degree strongly preferred
RRT credential required
Five years clinician experience preferred. Three years supervisor experience preferred.
Expert knowledge of all respiratory care principles and procedures. Employee must be able to handle a variety of responsibilities under pressure. Must function independently and make appropriate decisions.
III. Degree of Supervision Required:
This position requires minimal to no direct supervision. Individual anticipates and initiates his/her own performance, applying critical thinking skills to provide high quality images and in compliance with policies, procedures and standards established by director.
