Job Description:

The School of Dentistry s Preventive and Restorative Dental Sciences (PRDSu0027) Faculty Group Practice (FGP) and the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) comprises of eight to eleven faculty and four residents practicing in comprehensive general dentistry. The FGP has one full time dental hygienist, several registered dental assistants, and administrative assistants.

The Registered Dental Hygienist will provide clinical support to the General Dentistry Practice Faculty Practice at Parnassus. The individual will work under the supervision of licensed dentists. S/he will perform dental care tasks, focused on maintaining and monitoring the oral health of the patients through clinical work such as cleaning patientsu0027 teeth, oral health screening/examination, performing treatment procedures and teaching oral hygiene care to patients. This also includes charting/updating patients medical and dental history, patient conditions, treatment procedures and comments; maintenance of equipment; set-up and clean operatories. Expected to see patients on his/her own and direct their own tasks.
