Position Summary:

As a Systems Administrator you will work under general direction. You will be responsible for provisioning, installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. You will provide support for a diverse group in all aspects of the business for both internal and external entities. You will ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational core values.

You will also assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in designing, executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions.
  • Maintain Microsoft AD Domain - OU's, user account management, security management, group membership, and health of the AD Domain.
  • Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
  • Maintain system backups and provide daily reports to management.
  • Aggressively monitor all critical systems and network infrastructure using the tools provided and maintain their health, performance, and security.
  • Provide daily monitoring of all servers and storage, and production equipment to ensure these devices are optimally tuned and within normal operating ranges. Take dedicated measures to mitigate out or range threshold.
  • Maintain patch deployment for all servers using WSUS server and participate in monthly manual patching of critical systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining operational standard methodology for system/application upgrades and rollouts to include researching, project planning, validating, implementing, and documenting system changes.
  • Participate in the Change Control Process to ensure we are communicating and planning all production changes through the CCB.
  • Provide tier 2 support to the service desk.
  • Recommends process improvements initiatives as it relates to IT.
  • Be on-call and provide evening or weekend coverage as needed.

Experience & Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or technical related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years experience supporting and managing a geographically dispersed IT infrastructure.
  • Previously employment held as a Systems Engineer or Systems Administrator position is required.
  • Previous Management experience and/or the ability to lead junior level team members preferred.
  • Enterprise Storage experience or certification is required.
  • Requires experienced knowledge of Windows server and desktop products.
  • Requires ability to administer a large scale AD infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to support multi-function network printers and photocopiers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of setting up remote access for users.
  • Proficient with AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, DFS Name Space/Replication, and High Availability using Microsoft Cluster Technology.
  • Extensive knowledge with backup technologies required
  • System imaging experience - Acronis, Ghost, and Windows Deployment Server (WDS), etc.
  • Experience with back office hardware including the following areas is desired: Cisco UCS and DELL Server Hardware, Cisco Networking products, Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, Citrix XenApp, High Availability system design and implementation using Microsoft Clustering technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies - VMWare ESX.
  • Proficient with MS Office programs including Visio and MS Project.
