MV Transportation is seeking an Maintenance Supervisor. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will manage all aspects of the bus maintenance operation during their assigned shift. Responsibilities will include: shop operations, personnel management, scheduling of preventative maintenance, repairs of vehicles, quality of PM's/repairs completed, fueling/cleaning of the fleet, and managing outside vendors. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluate, coach, train, motivate and mentor assigned staff to ensure safety and effective work practices.
Will be responsible for personnel matters (annual evaluations, participate in interview panels, recommendations for technician and service worker hiring, employee coaching, and recommending/administering discipline in accordance with the CBA.
Identify training needs for maintenance personnel and coordinate with Maintenance Manager and trainers to obtain needed training.
Coordinate, negotiate, and verify repairs for repairs sent to commercial vendors.
Utilizes various software programs (RTA, Clever Devices, Fleet Focus, FleetWatch) to generate reports to identify needed PM's, repairs, campaigns, fueling and/or cleaning of buses and equipment assigned to location.
Schedules preventative maintenance, repairs, and campaign work for buses and equipment.
Performs and documents quality audits on completed PM's and repairs.
Performs quality and compliance audits of work orders and vehicle files.
Assigns work duties to staff to facilitate the timely and effective completion needed PM's, repairs and/or fueling and cleaning of buses.
Utilizes various software programs to generate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments.
Must be able to evaluate, coach, motivate and mentor assigned staff.
Must have the ability to track and control parts inventories, vendors and suppliers.
Must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and vendors, in written and oral formats.
Must have computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and Microsoft Outlook.
Must have technical competence with heavy diesel vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
CDL Driver's license required.
Experience with Fleet Focus, RTA, Clever Devices, FleetWatch, and Microsoft Office preferred.
Experience with air conditioning systems, transmissions, electrical diagnosis, emission control systems, and wheelchair lifts.
Experience in a union environment preferred.
Diesel experience preferred
ASE certification in truck or transit bus preferred.
Independence of action is high and being a self-started essential.
Consequences of error high due to the nature of public transit vehicles and customer safety.
