SUMMARY

The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and compiling and evaluating statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Select products for tests and test products for a variety of qualities such as gradation specification, density, performance and or chemical characteristics.

  • Record test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

  • Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

  • Set up and perform tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.

  • Enter data into computer for analysis and prepare graphs or charts illustrating results.

  • Must be a self-motivated and responsible person willing and able to work independently or in group setting.

  • Have the ability to deal with people in a professional manner.

  • Have the ability to perform and understand necessary tests to ensure products remain within state and federal regulations and requirements.

  • Have the ability to report all problem situations to supervisors.

  • Must possess a currently valid driver’s license.

  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent experience.

Ability to read and understand stone ledge formations and the ledge numbering system.

Computer literacy from either formal education or experience.

LANGUAGE  SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Willing and able to achieve necessary certification in all required states.
