Responsible for managing a specific production area and a specific shift in order to meet delivery, quality, and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop, motivate and challenge manufacturing employees
Provide meaningful and timely feedback on employees’ performance including conducting monthly one-on-one meeting with Team Developers, and completing and conducting annual performance appraisals in a timely manner
Monitor employee’s compliance to the attendance policy
Take appropriate action when performance expectations are not met.
Ensure employees are adequately prepared to perform the manufacturing operations to which they have been assigned Provide and document training
Ensure that employees have all the tools and equipment they need to produce a quality product
Ensure that only current, accurate and authorized documentation is in use
Utilize the MES system to recognize and immediately correct repetitive quality and production problems
Retrieve and compile MES production data as needed
Review other production, quality, and maintenance system reports to identify and correct production, quality, or operational problems
Maintain a clean and safe manufacturing area following 6s
Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve key operational metrics and achieve organizational goals
Minimize Scrap and manage MRO expense by indentifying opportunities and providing corrective action
Create an environment that allows for the productive exchange of information within the department
Deliver complete and accurate Pass Down information from one shift to the next
Ensure employees are paid for all of the time they work by reviewing, editing and approving timecards within the timeframe established by payroll
When errors occur, request that timecards are updated and employees are paid
Strive to maintain compliance with EICC guidelines by monitoring employee’s overtime and taking action as necessary
Coordinate with peers to evaluate staffing requirements to determine when employees need to be loaned to or borrowed from other work areas
Review and approve or deny vacation and personal time requests based on staffing requirements
Works safely at all times and complies with Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules
HS Diploma and one to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Bachelor’s degree and one year in a supervisory role preferred.
Advanced reading, writing and math skills
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages
Strong analytical, interpretive and problem resolution skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with tight, rapidly changing deadlines
