Job Description

Pennoni Associates, a leading engineering and design consulting firm, is currently seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to perform the following, but not limited to:

  • Performing complex engineering calculations specific to pipe flow, pumps, heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) Systems, heat transfer and pipe stress analysis

  • Sizing and selection of all required system components

  • Engaging in some survey work in research laboratories and industrial plant environments (climbing ladders involved)

Job Requirements:

  • Required Experience: 4 to 7 years
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Familiarity with functionality and election of industrial-type power equipment such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers and air compressors
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation

Preferred Attributes:

  • PE Preferred but not required
  • Knowledge and understanding of psychometrics
  • Ability to write technical documents in a clear and understandable manner
  • Familiarity with applicable ASHRAE standards for HVAC and Building Energy Efficiency design and SME B31.3 piping code
