Job Description:

New England Biolabs is inviting applications to join the expanding NEBNext® commercial team. Using knowledge of customer needs and market trends, the Product Marketing Manager will develop and implement marketing tactics to drive the revenue and brand growth for a range of products within the NEBNext product portfolio.  This is an in-house role based in Ipswich, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Act as a champion for the given range of products, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals set for the products.

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies that match customer needs with the specific benefits of the products to create unique and sustainable market positions.

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of market trends and customer needs for the product range.

  • Identify new product and market opportunities related to the range of products.

  • Develop and manage the implementation of creative promotional tactics that align themselves with the buying process of the customer, and drive brand awareness and product revenue growth.

  • Propose and support the optimum channel to market and sell the different products in the range.

  • Manage all aspects of the product life-cycle and ensure appropriate post-launch support.

  • Propose and manage product pricing.

Required Qualifications and Experience: 


  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in one of core life science disciplines; molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry etc.

  • Minimum three years’ experience in the life science industry, with at least one year experience focused on next generation sequencing (NGS)

  • Broad knowledge of the NGS market.

  • Good understanding of core principles of marketing and how to best apply them to the NGS market.

  • Basic understanding of the selling process and how it is used effectively within the NGS market.

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; both written and verbal.

  • Strong analytic and critical thinking skills. 

  • Good computing skills, with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to travel, including overseas, up to 30% of time.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience: 


  • Knowledge and experience in digital marketing strategy and tactics.

  • Cross-functional experience - R&D and/or Sales/Marketing - in life science industry.
