Title: Research Sr Engineering Manager
Oversees the creation of new technology and identifies emerging technology and the transition of both into the company by applying cutting edge research to real customer scenarios, demonstrating the technologyÂ s potential use to provide a competitive advantage for the company. May drive or direct one or more of the following: Predicting the application of new technologies to communications and demonstrating them as the future of communications at industry and company events; partnering with different business groups to integrate new and emerging products in existing company products or to create new products that take advantage of such technologies. Acts as a thought leader in external industry and research groups by using such communication methods as publications, lectures, and/or advisory groups. Helps set company strategy for certain technologies. Defines goals and objectives for one or more projects and is fully accountable for leadership of a team and execution of deliverables. Directs a team of approximately 5+ people. May manage lower level managers. Aligns with broader strategic needs of the business.
PhD with 3-5 years exp, OR a Master degree with 5-17 years exp, or a Bachelor degree with at least 10+ years exp
People Management Experience
