About this role:
The Business Planning Specialist is responsible for preparing monthly journal entries, cost recovery models, business plans, forecasts, and account reconciliations. He/She prepares financial and operating reports to provide a basis for management planning, operating controls, and performance measurements and results in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
The Business Planning Specialist is responsible for:
Processing of month end journal entries: journal accrual, monthly prepayment and balance sheet, and income statement reclassification journals
Month end trial balance sheet
Month end budget performance and variance reporting
Request for Appropriation (RFA) approval and processing
General Ledger reconciliation and aging analysis
Invoice approval and processing
Creating processes and procedures to improve efficiency and user system knowledge
Experience with Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel including use of pivot tables and formula creation
Effective communication skills, Time management, Attention to detail, Prioritizing multiple tasks, Budget planning
Knowledge of Standards and Governance Policies and Procedures
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
