SCHEDULE: Full-time

Blake Medical Center is currently accepting applications for an Ultrasound Technologist on a full-time basis. This Ultrasound Technologist schedule will be 8-hour shifts with variable hours and will include rotating weekends. RDMS in abdomen, OB/GYN or vascular - if not currently held - must be obtained within one (1) year of service in the Ultrasound department.

An Ultrasound Technologist performs those duties directly involved with a variety of technical imaging procedures by operating all equipment utilized within the Ultrasound department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Reviews, edits and organizes images for presentation to the radiologist or referring physician; Ensures appropriateness of the exam is correct; Establishes and maintains good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and the medical staff; Accurately inputs data into PACs and MEDITECH in a timely manner; Notifies Radiologist of stat exams to facilitate the reporting of stat results.


* Current state licensure to practice medical imaging

* ARDMS certification preferred

* Current American Heart Association Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)

* Customer service abilities including effective listening skills

* Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

* Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
