Specific Requirements:

Do you want to be a part of a collaborative SCRUM team within our Software Development group, creating the best-in-class global software platform that Dematic implements and supports across the globe? 

We are seeking a mid-level full stack JEE/Java Software Engineer in our Atlanta, GA office.

As a software developer you will be working on designing, implementing and integrating components for complex extensions of our WCS/WES/WMS product “Dematic iQ Optimize”. At its foundation it uses a system wide application platform being based on the JEE / EJB standard. The product is used globally both internally and by partner companies in international customer projects.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Translate high level business requirements into technical software requirements.

  • Design, implement and unit test work packages of the application platform by using well-proven design patterns.

  • Fine adjustment of interfaces to other subsystems.

  • Test developed software.

  • Automate software verification.

  • Learn and apply new tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

  • Adhere to the software development Definition of Done.

  • Work within Agile (Scrum and Kanban) environments to plan and deliver product incrementally.

  • Follow the Agile Scrum Process and the team’s best practices.

  • Generate technical documentation.

  • Inter- Scrum team collaboration in design and support for integration of modules into standard solutions and sub-systems.

  • Coach and mentor junior software developers.

  • Roll-out support:

    • Perform technical product trainings for our international internal customers

    • Coach implementation efforts based on the application platform

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Java (Standard and Enterprise a plus)

  • Solid understanding and experience with Java technologies including Hibernate, JPA, JPQL, Maven, EJBs, and JSP.

  • Scripting languages such as Python etc.

  • IntelliJ IDEA

  • UML, XML/JSON, Wildfly

  • Database (MS SQL-Sever)

  • Jira, GitLab, and Confluence.

  • OS: Windows Server.

  • Virtualization (VMWare, etc).

  • Proficiency in object oriented design principles and related design patterns and coding standards.

  • A solid foundation in algorithms and data structures.

  • Familiarity with version and configuration management

  • The following technical knowledge and skills are a plus:

    • Experience in intralogistics domain

    • GWT and/or Angular

    • OS: Linux

    • Database: Oracle

    • Mobile development for Android

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of software development experience in Java/JEE.

  • Ability to travel 5% - 10%.
