Koch Fertilizer, LLC is currently seeking a motivated and self-driven Reliability Engineer for our Fertilizer Manufacturing plant located in Enid, OK. The Enid plant manufactures’ Anhydrous Ammonia, Granulated Urea and Urea Ammonia Nitrate (UAN). The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:


A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Create plans & strategies for increasing the reliability of the plant

  • Carry out reliability projects, and assist maintenance and reliability teams in conducting failure analysis and prevention

  • Drive improvements through: plant turnarounds, reliability planning & strategies, maintenance & turnaround projects, plant process training. 

  • Collaborate with plant leadership to identify and implement reliability improvements specific to rotating equipment to include: turbines, compressors, pumps, and other critical high value rotating equipment.

  • Proactively and deliberately advancing the Market Based Management (MBM®) culture

  • Leading and advancing the asset availability and reliability of the plant's rotating equipment to support the production objectives

  • Leading and promoting root cause analysis (RCA); i.e. capturing and categorizing loss events, leading operator basic care, advancing strategies around lubrication and vibration, and implementing lessons learned

  • Collaborating with leaders and technicians to drive out repeated failures and implement all aspects of the company’s reliability mental model to meet production demands

  • Providing reliability training for operations to improve skills and knowledge

  • Applying economic thinking to lead capital and expense reliability initiatives while collaborating with operations support personnel, maintenance, reliability and engineering

  • Providing reliability expertise during design and implementation of new assets

  • Providing technical support to maintenance for precision repair

  • Maintaining reliability data in the databases and monitoring key reliability measures

  • Developing and executing the scope of work for maintenance outages


What Will You Need? 
Required qualifications:

  • 6 months of working experience

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Experience in communicating complex ideas and presenting information/training to diverse groups

  • Mechanical aptitude

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering OR 10 years of experience in reliability maintenance of rotating equipment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at heights of approximately 25-100 ft

  • Unassisted physical mobility around a plant

  • Ability to sit, stand or kneel as needed

  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather


What Will Put You Ahead? 
Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4 or more years of reliability engineering or maintenance experience in an industrial environment

  • Reliability engineering experience in a nitrogen fertilizer production facility

  • Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT) Level 2 Certification

  • ISO Category 2 Vibration Analyst Certification

  • Experience with Mechanical Integrity Programs

  • Experience in industrial chemical manufacturing

  • Maximo CMMS experience

  • Experience developing work and reliability processes on centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, pumps, steam turbines, fans, gearboxes, and conveyors.

  • Experience developing or implementing processes and/or projects

  • Root cause failure analysis (RCFA) investigation experience

  • CMRP certification
