Job Description:

Serves as the primary interface between corporate and foundation entities and the university's colleges and programs for the purposes of philanthropic engagement. Connect corporate partners to colleges, departments and programs; facilitate student engagement through hiring and internships; networking events and other OU activities which respond to corporate needs and interests. Collaborate with faculty and deans across campus to identify needs for foundation support and provide grant writing expertise and other necessary communications to fulfill those initiatives. Reports to the Vice President for Advancement and leads a team of corporate and foundation development officers (Tulsa and Oklahoma City) and an administrative assistant.

Required Education: Bachelor Degree OR an equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

  • 60 months fund-raising, corporate engagement, gift planning, PR or marketing

Skills:


  • Proficient navigating and maintaining databases

  • Advanced excel skills with ability to build and manipulate spreadsheets

  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Able to produce reports and complete work within deadlines

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Customer service

  • Ability to take initiative and have an entrepreneurial spirit

  • Success in soliciting and closing high (6-7 figure) corporate and foundation funding

  • Demonstrated strategic planning and execution

  • Must be able to perform basic data analysis

  • Able to effectively evaluate projects/programs and produce comprehensive reports

  • Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively

  • Must have strong ability to lead project teams

  • Must be able to create and deliver effective training presentations

  • Composition and proofreading skills

  • Some technical writing experience

Certifications:

  • Valid Drivers License to meet with donors

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods. Ability to travel. Ability to lift to 20 pounds (presentation materials, etc.) Ability to work some evenings and weekends.

Departmental Preferences:


  • Master's degree

  • CFRE certification

  • Experience in higher education fundraising environment

  • Corporate/Foundation experience, particularly with non-profits

Supervision: Team Leader
