This position is oriented around supporting cloud collaboration tool, primarily Microsoft Office 365 but may include other vendors as well. This position covers detailed knowledge in operating systems, operational tools, Networks, data base management software and other similar systems support software. Focuses primarily on information and document requirements for data, workflow, logical process, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks and controls, and outputs.
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Documents findings of study and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes. Reports findings to principal engineer, staff and management as required.
Demonstrates technical thought leadership around O365 collaboration suite and features that can be used to improve employee experience.
Migrates on premises collaboration environment to the cloud. Initiates POCs of new technologies / solutions in the collaboration space.
Manages Office 365 tenant administration specific to collaboration tools.
Delivers solution design and deployment of desktop and mobile technologies. Leads deployment and support of audio/web conferencing solutions.
With only general direction and guidance conducts special assignments of a highly complex and technical nature and develops alternative strategies which have an important effect on planning or meeting objectives.
Provides subject matter expert technical advice and serves as a technical training resource to management and staff. Possess subject matter expert engineering skills required for building and testing the Operating Systems environment and for break/fix solution for escalated issues.
Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selection methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
Plans and leads the support of process components including tools, utilities and procedures based on requests from technical users, end users and third-party vendors.
Drives the implementation of applications and/or processes within the scope of standard procedures and frameworks.
Maintains an enterprise-level view of business requirements, identifying cross-functional synergies and interdependencies as appropriate.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science a related discipline preferred.
8+ years relevant work experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience as an O365 engineer.
5-7 years of overall experience in design, deployment and migration activities for large and complex projects.
Microsoft certifications in relevant technologies preferred.
Experience with 2-4 large enterprise level solutions with technical, application and business requirements.
Hands on experience in complex messaging migration environments, including hybrid O365 configuration.
Experience conducting and supporting O365 migration, authentication and identity management.
Experience managing and remediating Active Directory, migrating on-prem AD to Azure Active Directory.
Experience with EM+s, Federation Services and Identity Management is a plus.
Knowledge with capacity planning, disaster recovery, performance tuning and testing, logical and physical architecture design.
Must be able to mentor more junior engineers in new systems, concepts and technical procedures.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to create original concepts and theories for various projects.
Proven ability to lead meetings and activities by effectively communicating concepts, systems and procedures with geographically dispersed teams.
Demonstrates technical expertise across multiple functional areas.
Champions proactive knowledge sharing to promote constant process refinement and improvement.
