Job Description 

Responsible for managing the global compensation programs, supervising the benefits team, and conducting global HR analytics. Plans, develops, and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies and procedures to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. Supervise the benefits team who lead and manage the U.S. health and retirement plans including design, implementation, and on-going monitoring.


  • Provide strategic and tactical leadership to ensure compensation programs are competitive, sustainable, have an accretive impact on short- and long-term strategic goals, and align to HR strategy.

  • Collect, evaluate, and synthesize internal and external data to influence senior leadership.

  • Evaluate market analysis and competitive practices, assess the company’s position to market, and make recommendations that align with industry practices and business objectives.

  • Partner with finance and senior leadership on the execution of short-term incentive and merit programs; monitor on-going program costs and develops appropriate future budget projections and accruals for finance.

  • Lead periodic short-term incentive and merit award cycles.

  • Lead the international assignment approval, set-up, administration, and tax reporting.

  • Ensure proper documentation and housing of plan procedures and documents, including annual review/update of operating procedures, policy documents, notices, etc.

  • Provide research and analysis on a variety of related issues; provides benchmarking, competitive intelligence, and best practice for consideration.

  • Ensure compensation programs are compliant with policies and government regulations.  Stay abreast of government wage and hour regulations, including minimum wage requirements and the Fair Labor Standard Act.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.

  • Provide input to merger and acquisition activities to support the due diligence process.


  • Oversee health and retirement benefit plans including design, annual enrollment, education, systems, compliance, benefits broker/consultant and vendor relationships.

  • Adhere to the annual benefits budget for the company.

  • Oversee RFP processes, vendor selection and vendor relationships, delivery, and adherence to service level agreements. 

  • Oversee compliance with federal and state regulations and internal and external audits for qualified health and welfare and retirement plans. Provide input to merger and acquisition activities to support the due diligence process.

Global HR:

  • Collaborate with Global HRIS manager, HR business partners, and Benefits manager to design and deliver enduring human capital solutions.

  • Conduct global Compensation project management and analytics in support of human capital initiatives. 

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Social Responsibilities:    

  • Maintain compliance with Ferro’s Code of Business Conduct, policies and procedures, management systems, and all applicable Environmental, Health, Safety other regulations.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge:      

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related degree.

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation strategy setting, design, and administration.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory issues for compensation programs.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to prepare complex analysis.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.

  • Working knowledge and experience with Workday
