A HOKA Senior Designer is someone who leads by example, designing innovative performance product that enables a world of athletes to fly over the earth. They mentor less experienced designers and are highly skilled in translating product briefs into compelling and commercial designs, all whilst working in an extremely collaborative and inclusive manner with the broader teams. The individual is proactive and committed to delivering appealing future-facing concepts that attract more eyes to the brand through their immersion in the target market and understanding of the potential wearers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design compelling performance product that adheres to brand guidelines and answers consumer needs
Develop and create illustrations and tech packs for new design concepts using Illustrator, detailing concept, materials, and development specifications based on HOKA brand design guidelines
Works with the design leadership to implement brand vision, design language and product direction
Manage and drive multiple design projects from conceptualization to finished product, adhering to calendar deadlines
Presents concepts with strong verbal and visual execution, while clearly communicating design process and vision
Travel with the team on development and inspiration trips, to sales meetings, select tradeshows, and significant retail regions/districts
Immerse in and understand the target markets and consumers to help drive product creation
Develop and create category design stories and themes, providing direction to team members
Collaborate closely with the development and PLM team to design products to meet product briefs at the target cost
Review, revise and approve prototypes in a timely manner with the key stakeholders
Collaborate and clearly communicate with Product and design team to ensure design objectives are reflected in the creation and execution of the product
Lead and mentor junior designers through clear and consistent coaching and development.
Build and support a collaborative culture for direct reports and peers
Establish formal communication protocol through regular team meetings and 1:1 meetings with direct reports.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in design related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
