Duration: Full-Time, Contract

Travel: None

Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

What You’ll Get to Do!!

The Legal Clerk will provide a wide range of administrative support related task and assistance in support of one of our clients.  The ideal candidate must be extremely well-organized, detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines in a timely manner. 

Key functions you will perform!


  • Work under the direction of a Supervisory Legal Assistant or an Administrative Supervisor

  • Provide Word processing and data entry/retrieval

  • Answer inquiries regarding case related information as maintained in the database

  • Receive telephone calls and visitors

  • Merge form letters with mailing lists

  • Respond to inquiries, providing general information regarding office programs

  • Receive, review, and distribute incoming FAXs, mail and packages

  • Ensure mail received from other agencies is appropriately screened and distributed

  • Ensure daily incoming mail is delivered and is processed accordingly

  • Ensure daily outgoing mail is available for pickup by mail carrier at the end of the day

  • Support meeting set up/break down

  • Operate copier, fax, scanner

  • Type routine forms, letters

  • File records

  • Perform administrative tasks and small projects such as updating directories, data entry, filing, and document development/preparation

  • Examine, prepare and process a variety of technical complex legal documents

  • Review incoming material and independently determines the need for compiling of legal documents (complaints, motions, orders, answers, pleadings, and subpoenas)

  • Obtain necessary information from law enforcement agencies

  • Prepare travel arrangements and authorizations including vouchers

  • Track and maintain calendar of assigned cases, along with scheduling appointments, interviews and conferences and reminds attorneys of upcoming appearances

  • Perform all other duties assigned by the client  

What you will need to have:


  • High School diploma

  • Proficiency in word processing software

  • Ability to review and analyze data from multiple sources and answer inquiries regarding case-related statuses

  • Ability to establish case/project files

  • Ability to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data from databases and prepare and format management reports

  • Ability to prepare and correct correspondence, schedule appointments and maintain status information

  • Ability to consistently deliver highest quality under extreme pressure

  • Ability to provide administrative information and assistance concerning case or file to other agencies or organizations

  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office software, word processing, database, spreadsheets and telecommunications applications

  • A favorable credit check for all cleared positions

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Must have lived in the US at least three (3) of the past five (5) years

  • Successfully passing a background investigation

Preferred Skills


  • Undergraduate degree preferred

  • Good organizational and communication skills

  • Local to the Pittsburgh, PA area
