Job Description:


The candidate will join a team that provides 24x7 enterprise level infrastructure support for (client's) large fleet of MS-SQL servers and databases. (435 servers, 5000+ databases

Responsibilities:


  • Installation of SQL Server components and service packs


  • Proactive management of all aspects of SQL instances including database creates, backup and recovery, sizing/space management, and all levels of security


  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and test problems


  • Configure and support SQL on Microsoft high availability clusters


  • Provide Disaster Recovery planning and support


  • Provide support to application developers using TSQL, stored procedures, SSIS packages and other database objects


  • Create and maintain database optimization & maintenance plans


  • Implement database auditing


  • Work with vendors and cross-functional IT teams to resolve problems and develop system solutions



Work Environment:

The Systems Software Analyst will be a member of the SQL Server DBA team. This position requires being routinely on call and periodic off-hour work.


Required


  • Solid SQL Server administration skills


  • Windows Server expertise


  • Ability to research, architect, design, and secure advanced SQL architectures including high availability solutions


  • Transact SQL knowledge



Desired

  • Experience with Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS), and/or Analysis Services (SSAS)


  • Database schema design and procedure coding knowledge



Educational or Required Work Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology field or equivalent. 3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases. Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving abilities. Demonstrated team player.
