INVISTA is seeking a GlobalFinancial Reporting Leader in Wichita, KS. This role will be a broad leadership role requiring technical US GAAP expertise and strategic partnership with the business teams. Successful candidates for this role will lead the Global Consolidation process for INVISTA and serve as the key leader for the Global Financial Audit. This opportunity allows a strategic and innovative leader to work directly with INVISTA’s Executive Business Leaders to identify economic treatment of USGAAP and should be able to explain these concepts and impacts to key leaders.
A Day In The Life Typically Includes:
Key Leader that can drive innovative and transformational solutions within a global financial reporting organization.
Provide leadership and development to a large team of employees and the global financial reporting process, as well as further promote MBM® culture and develop talent leveraging employees’ comparative advantage.
Provide leadership and guidance on evolving accounting principles and all accounting matters with an expectation of developing economic application and outcomes.
Lead the technical accounting research function. Identify accounting matters and work with regional accounting teams to develop and document technical accounting positions to meet US GAAP and external reporting requirements. Help ensure consistency and use of best practices by promoting knowledge sharing across regional accounting teams.
Proactively evaluate and monitor the overall internal control environment through continual assessment, awareness and knowledge sharing. Maintain a strong relationship with the Internal/External Audit group to help prioritize audits / assessments, knowledge share on themes and best practices, and following up on audit findings to ensure compliance.
Lead and innovate the month-end close and financial reporting process to meet best in class close timelines, including preparation of quarterly/annual consolidated global financial statements. Manage financial reporting to our parent company, external reporting of quarterly and annual financial statements, and governmental reporting as required.
Identify and report meaningful metrics to benchmark performance. This leader will be key to drive actions and improvement opportunities coming from these metrics, both as it relates to the financial reporting team activities and global accounting and reporting processes.
Lead year-end close and audit process including preparation of financial statements, footnotes and supporting documentation. Maintain relationship with external auditors and ensure deadlines for year-end reporting are met.
Lead and drive special projects such as valuations, goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing, new consolidation tool implementation, opportunities to improve internal financial statement reporting and oversight of global statutory financial statement filings.
What You Will Need:
6+ combined years of experience in public accounting, financial reporting and/or manufacturing industry experience
Experience researching and communicating technical accounting policy under U.S. GAAP
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience leading and communicating complex global business, accounting or technical issues to accounting and business leaders
Ability to work extended hours during the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process
Management experience leading and developing a team of accounting professionals
What Will Put You Ahead?
8+ combined years of experience in public accounting, financial reporting and/or manufacturing industry experience
Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Masters of Accountancy
Certified Public Accountant
Previous experience in supporting a global manufacturing organization
Previous experience with statutory reporting
Experience with the consolidation process/system, including elimination entries and consolidating international entities with foreign currencies
