This position is meant to increase operating depth to the International department. The Senior Vice President, Operations, International will work with the President, International to manage the entire P&L operations for the division. This will include existing and new markets, and span both operations and new business development. The goal is to spread the load of existing and new operations across additional Executive personnel.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • This position will work directly with and report to the President - International to ensure smooth operations and growth of all existing non-USA countries.

  • Work with the International team in identifying new business opportunities, both in countries with an SBA presence and new countries.

  • Costs/Budgets/Analysis – This role will work with the Director of International FP&A to review and analyze all International budgets, expenditures and process/procedures related to such to zero in on areas of further standardization and efficiency that make sense.

  • This role will focus on Site Operations across all International markets to monitor performance, review process and procedure, and make changes as necessary to create standardization and efficiency where it makes sense. In going through this area they will compare/contrast the International Operations with Domestic USA operations to understand the need for any differences that exist.

  • Work on New Business Development initiatives with Internal Business Development group and Corporate New Business Development Team to analyze and implement projects as appropriate. Work as the market liaison for these efforts.

  • Work closely with SBA’s Legal teams on various matters in the markets.

  • Work closely with SBA’s Mergers & Acquisition team on opportunities.

  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

  • Travel will be required as-needed, but roughly 1 to 2 times per month during the first 12 months, and possibly increase later.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hire, train, develop and supervise support staff as applicable.

  • Professionally lead and manage multiple levels of employees and contractors as applicable to assure maximum effectiveness and goal achievement.

  • In conjunction with Corporate Human Resources, counsel and terminate staff as deemed necessary.

  • Ability to work effectively in other countries to support operations without direct management responsibility.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. MBA strongly preferred.

  • 15-20 years’ experience in broadband wireless infrastructure management and deployment required.

  • Ability to travel internationally on a monthly basis is required.

  • Prior international business experience preferred.

  • Must demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to work with MS Outlook, Word and Excel as well as the internet.


Language Skills:

  • Multi-lingual preferred (English plus Spanish, Portuguese and/ or French).

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, whether orally or written.


Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area and volume.


Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Must possess valid passport and have appropriate work permits.

  • Valid country driver’s license.
