JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Psychometrics leads a team of measurement professionals and is responsible for the oversight and implementation of the psychometric aspects of assessment development for Scantron off-the-shelf (OTS) and custom exams and international and national licensing and certification examination programs.This position works collaboratively with a variety of teams within the organization to drive quality and efficiency to support the development and execution of high quality products and to establish and maintain valid and defensible examination programs. This is a working Director position, which assumes the professional in this position will produce tangible work products to support Scantron clients in addition to leading the Psychometric team and completing appropriate managerial activities. Position can be filled in either the Raleigh-Durham, NC or Eagan, Minnesota office. 


KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in psychometrics and assessment management including the design, development, standard setting, processing,analysis (including scoring, scaling, equating and norming) and reporting of assessments in the certification/licensure and/or K-12 testing markets. 

  • Psychometric principles regarding test development, administration, scoring, and evaluation. 

  • CTT- and IRTbased methods of item analysis, test analysis, and equating (pre- and post-equating). 

  • Data management, analysis, and reporting strategies 

  • Research study principles, including study design, statistical analysis methods, and the interpretation and presentation of study results. 

  • An excellent understanding of measurement theory and its application in a practical setting 

  • Must be able to provide complicated problems/solutions to variety of audiences including both sophisticated and naïve customers. 

  • Must be able to contribute to client-facing proposal and presentations 

  • Must be able to design, submit, and present assessment and psychometric presentations at industry conferences with both domestic and international

audiences 


  • Good project planning, organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate a variety of different projects and individuals/direct reports and to adapt

to unforeseen and unexpected requests or changes in priorities. 

EDUCATION


  • Doctoral degree or equivalent in educational/psychological measurement, industrial/organizational psychology, statistics, or related area with relevant

experience and/or training.


EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing domestic and international teams responsible for assessment programs and related psychometric activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
