What you will do
Reporting to the VP, Global Enterprise Solutions. This role will lead the Emerging technologies & automation team in research, development, incubation and driving adoption of the next generation of digital capabilities (such as AI, ML, RPA, blockchain, data, augmented reality, speech, etc) as well as growing the automation COE across JCI. This role will require future thinking on how to apply new digital capabilities to drive business value, growth and productivity. This role requires an entrepreneur, startup mindset and the ability to drive digital culture, new capability adoption, and alignment to broader JCI business goals and objectives.
He/she will have accountability for acceleration and growth of the automation COE, be part of the “Workplace of the Future” initiative driving digital, and collaborating across JCI ensuring businesses and functions are leveraging learnings, already developed capabilities and incubating new ideas for growth. Key component of the role will be to strategically partner with external parties to drive innovation and scale.
How you will do it
Enable digital innovation using next generation capabilities that drive growth, productivity and digital transformation at JCI
Significantly accelerate the growth of the Automation COE across all functions and businesses
Develop new ways to accelerate the identification of process standardization and automation opportunities across JCI
Align to broader initiatives across JCI to drive automation and process standardization, for example: ERP simplification and transformation
Develop and govern a sustainable automation COE cost model using agile, dev/ops, and factory models
Build and govern next generation capability incubation environment enabling the business for rapid prototyping in a safe, secure, and scalable platform
Ensure all security, risk, and compliance processes are adhered to
Build strategic internal and external partnerships to enable innovation, scale and speed
Develop strong internal partnerships to ensure bi-directional idea / capability sharing and adoption across JCI
Design and build an effective communication and collaboration model across JCi
Lead staff in an effective manner (hiring, motivation, retention, performance/rewards assessments, development/corrective actions etc.)
Assess staffing and skills requirements; establish professional development & training plans; set goals and expectations with team members; provide continuing feedback on performance; perform annual reviews & 360 feedback, etc.
Establish departmental metrics/goals and objectives; report department accomplishments and plans on a regular basis
Drive continuous improvement and process simplification
Responsible in ensuring team members comply with the policies, procedures, and standards around change and release management
Ensure compliance with all regulatory and security requirements
What we look for
5+ years of experience in creating, leading and scaling COEs across enterprises like JCI
5+ years of experience deploying next generation capabilities (RPA, AI, ML, IOT, analytics, etc.)
7+ years of experience in program management, portfolio $10M+
7+ years of implementation experience with functional expertise in Commercial, Finance, Procurement, Operations and/or service / installation processes.
Experience in resolving complex business, systems, change management and program delivery challenges
Creative and innovative thinker with strong collaborative leadership skills to work in partnership with people relations and senior leadership teams.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of agile methodologies with proven track record of successful program delivery using Agile
Knowledge of ITSM practices such as change, incident and problem management. Preferably with ITIL foundation.
Knowledge to build and manage IT- business relationship, facilitation, communication and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to work with large cross-functional teams
Ability to identify opportunities for business value and process improvement, communicate strategies, and champion adoption to achieve desired results
Cross-cultural sensitivity and fully understand and adopt JC values and leadership model in daily management work.
Experience in sizeable multinational corporations preferred. Ability to manage multiple regional projects effectively
Experience on enterprise application platforms (ERP, CRM, eCommerce, SaaS applications, and cloud services)
Excellent knowledge on IT solutions, new technologies and understand technology trends
Good mix of technical/IT consulting and business background. Positive, collaborative and solution-oriented attitude
Ability to lead a team of employees, contractors & 3rd party partners working on one or more initiatives
Strong English communication and inter-personal skills; ability to work effectively with global teams
Proven record of innovation and bringing to market ideas and capabilities
Proven record of accelerating and growing COEs across an enterprise
Ability to translate business requirements into new ways of digitizing solutions
Proven record of taking a idea, proving / testing out the idea, and deploying the idea to real business scenarios
Ability to explain technical problems in simple terms
Ability to move fast, fail and pivot quickly, be decisive
Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple business and IT groups
Problem-solving skills – ability to navigate technology and organizational issues to complete project tasks
Willingness to meet challenges, hardworking & able to work under pressure
Willingness to travel
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or comparable field
At least 5 years of management experience
At least 3 years of business partnership experience with exposure to senior management.
