Job Description

The Accounting Manager position will be based in Austin, TX. Responsible for ensuring accurate accounting activities and effective financial operation as it relates to accounting responsibilities for benefits, payroll, etc.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

  • Manage a team of two people to monitor and assist corporate accounting responsibilities for corporate accounting (benefits, payroll, and other accounting functions).

  • Review, prepare and analyze accounting transactions and other financial reports to review for accuracy, completeness, and provide variance explanations.

  • Ensure schedules, and performance requirements are met.

  • Review all inter-company ICV booking and payments.

  • Ensure proper accounting of all transactions.

  • Lead financial periodic closing, analysis, and reporting.

  • Create and report monthly key operating indicators.

  • Create new general ledger accounts and file required paperwork.

  • Communicate financial results to leadership team and advise on business.

  • Provide Flex employee data for the budgets on a quarterly basis.

  • Maintain control of general and subsidiary ledgers.

  • Manage month end and quarter end close of financial records, including preparation of account reconciliations and journal entries for multiple general ledger accounts including cash, payroll receivable and tax withholding accounts.

  • Analyze expenses for cost centers, departments and projects.

  • Assist other GL functions as necessary

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):


  • Minimum 6-7 years of experience with approximately 2 years of managerial/supervision experience

  • Experience with benefits, payroll accounting and forecasting

  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written) and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Good time management skills and should be able to remain organized under periods of reporting pressure. 

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience

  • Cash flow experience a plus
