Responsible for supervising Micro Plant (Cambridge) to meet, or exceed, goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. 




Safety / Environment

  • Follow Emerson best practices for safety.

  • Participate in all NADC Safety Programs and Events.

  • Engages employees to participate in a continuous improvement safety culture.

  • Follow RCCM process for Near misses and First Aids.

  • Make sure JSA’s complete for all processes.

  • Participate in Emerson Safety Leadership Training & all other required Safety Training.

  • Ensure environmental compliance — SDS, product labeling, etc 

  • Attend quarterly safety / environmental meetings with NADC Mgr, HR Mgr, and Maintenance.


  • Supervise hourly employees and ensure accuracy of attendance

  • Coach & develop employees through providing feedback and completing employee evaluations. 

  • Handle employee performance and attendance issues with coaching, feedback, and corrective action policy.


  • Enter NQP’s & communicate issues with Sourcing and the Suppliers.

  • Ensure quality standards are met. 

  • Make sure standard work instructions in place for all processes.

  • Root Cause Countermeasure Customer Complaints

  • Support PPAP Process


  • Achieve > 93% RDSL

  • Work with NADC Replenishment Mgr, Planning, and Sourcing to improve Lot Size and Lead Time.

  • Add all items to pull (POG, E-Heijunka, Internal Pull for shared items from Elyria).

  • Analyze root causes of stock outs and work with cross-functional teams to recommend appropriate countermeasures.

Planning / Daily Operations

  • Main point of contact for all Cambridge Manufacturing related Issues.

  • Plans and aligns daily production schedule through releasing WO’s, working with planners and suppliers, and monitoring inventory levels – communicating with Elyria when needed.

  • Determine headcount needs and work with Elyria Plant Mgr. for approval. 

  • Set and communicate OT schedule 

  • Ensure equipment is repaired and maintained

  • Conduct Annual Physical Inventory Process & Cycle Count

  • Ensure Inventory receipts are accurate and timely and resolve issues and discrepancies.


  • Increase productivity by reducing RDSL issues and driving improvement

  • Reduce inventory, Work with Planning to determine actions.

  • Determine capital needs and work with Elyria Plant Mgr for approval 

  • Create PO’s in JDE for Non Inventory purchases. 

  • Approve invoices for expensed items and investigate discrepancies.


  • Meet with Elyria Plant Manager.

  • Schedule regular communication meetings with Direct Reports (weekly, quarterly).

  • Ability to manage cross-functional teams through directing work (i.e. meet with planners and HR to establish direction)

  • Ability to regularly communicate with various departments in Elyria

    • Meet with Elyria Plant Manager

    •  Schedule meetings via phone and webex — customer service, AP, engineering, sourcing, marketing, mfg, etc.

    • Occasional travel to Elyria, OH required.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Functional knowledge of kanban/pull systems

  • Applied experience using ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards preferred) and Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc)
