Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Electronics Technician I will construct, modify and maintain electronic equipment used for university programs and services within the Division of Student Life. This position will be primarily responsible for repair of dining, cooking and refrigeration equipment.
Build custom electronic equipment according to designs prepared by engineers or supervisory personnel. Assist in preparing schematic and wiring diagrams.
Repair dining, cooking, and refrigeration equipment.
Modify functions of various equipment to conform to specific requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and electronic instruments.
Calibrate and adjust electronic equipment to ensure optimum performance.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
Graduation from a two-year resident electronics trade school, or any combination of training and experience from which comparable knowledge and ability can be acquired
Special Qualifications: (if appropriate)
Valid driver's license and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Driving Record Review Standards.
Proven customer service experience
Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively in a diverse environment
Working experience performing electronic maintenance in a large facility (examples: residence hall, apartment complex, hospital, school, etc.)
