We are looking for a full-time for an EMC Engineer at our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will partner with experienced EMC Engineers to learn and perform tasks associated with completing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Certifications. Other essential functions include:
Work collaboratively with experienced EMC engineers to develop and write test plans that will result in test data used to show EMC compliance with respective requirements
Gain understanding of technical requirements and test setups with oversight from more experienced EMC team members
Develop skills in the definition, documentation and development of test setups that will be used during EMC testing including harnesses, test loads, and definitions of new interfaces
May participate in EMC testing at test facilities including scheduling of testing, recommending personnel staffing, documentation of results and recommending the disposition of any anomalies
Develop and write test reports that correctly and completely capture the test results and will include the information required to ensure the report can be used to show compliance with EMC requirements

The Operations team is responsible for partnering with cross functional engineering teams to achieve EMC and radio transmitter certifications. The Operations EMC Engineer is expected to create and implement test plans for products that contain GPS navigation, HD traffic, wireless video, radar and driving recorder platforms as well as connected services using technologies such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Wi-Fi. Also, under the direction of experienced EMC engineers, the Operations EMC Engineer is expected to test prototypes for RF emissions, properly document test results and communicate test plan deliverables to project teams while providing visibility to leadership. Thoroughly documenting work in an organized manner and offering process improvements are also expected in this role.

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSEE, BSCE) from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other required skills include:
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule) with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledge
Demonstrates basic knowledge and/or understanding of RF technology
Demonstrates basic knowledge and/or understanding of electrical circuits
Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Word & Excel
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Knowledge and/or experience with ESD, EMC or EMI testing and country certifications or homologations with ability to review designs and offer suggestions for improvements
