As a Quality Control Technician I, you'll be responsible for ensuring all products (incoming and outgoing) meet quality standards by performing a variety of microbiological and chemical testing in a lab environment. In addition, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness standards and adhering to lab safety standards, assuring Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.
3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Receive, sort, composite and prepare samples for laboratory testing.
Prepare compounds and reagents for use in conducting tests.
Perform and demonstrate proficiency in the following tests including:
Analysis of ash, moisture, scorch, density, dispersability, titratable acidity, pH, flavor, color, and allergens
Interpret test results and prepare test solutions. Perform various microbiological test procedures which includes: preparation of test media, analysis of plate count, Coloform and E.coli.
Review specifications on testing data; enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
Ensure lab area and equipment is clean and sanitized according to standards.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on lab equipment.
Perform quarterly internal proficiency testing; ensure that the level results are acceptable.
Support product safety, quality and legality .
Follow all safety procedures and participates in safety training.
Update knowledge and develop professionally on a continuing basis
Observe and perform all safety protocol.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Bachelor or Associate degree in Science Field and lab experience.
Ability to effectively problem solve.
Working knowledge of lab equipment operation.
Work performed accurately, reliably, thoroughly, timely, and within safety guidelines.
Quality Control decisions administered soundly and consistently with policies and in compliance with appropriate laws and regulations.
Effectively communicates and develops good working relationships with all employees
Professional workplace appearance, conduct, honesty and integrity in all communications required.
Reports for work as scheduled and on time.
