Fortune 500 client is actively seeking a Tier 2 Data Center Engineer to join their global enterprise providing national support for their clients.
Shift is Wednesday - Saturday, 12:30 PM - 10:30 PM (2nd shift)

Unified Computing System administration and troubleshooting
Network connectivity troubleshooting
Tier II level engineer responsible for supporting customers in a 24/7/365 Data Center Operations setting. Capable of configuring and administering a defined technology/system (e.g. hardware, operating systems, network and possible middleware) in support of ongoing operations and projects. Manage incidents and requests for a defined technology environment. Provide network specific technical expertise for the support of Data Center system requirements. Individual will work as part of a global team in support of Cisco clients. Work in accordance with the established procedures and aligned to industry best practice.
The successful candidate will have a track record and desire to excel at both technical issue resolution and customer engagement. Multi-tasking and the ability to successfully manage multiple issues at once are necessary for success.

Responsibilities
The responsibilities include the monitoring of existing client networks and the ability to work within a defined set of processes and procedures with a focus on meeting service level requirements to increase customer satisfaction.
- Support and be responsible for defined system administration activities on a defined system or environment.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Actively respond to incidents and client requests.
- Utilization of NMS tools to monitor the client’s network and provide both reactive and proactive support.
- Escalating technical issues per process to senior engineering resources within the team.
- Engagement and tracking of third party resources that may be utilized to assist in the troubleshooting process.
- Assist in documentation of new processes and procedures to improve team efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
-Experience troubleshooting network connectivity in a layer 2 environment.
-Experience working in multiple ticketing platforms and the ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously while providing timely resolutions to customer issues
-Candidate must have strong organizational skills and be self-motivated
-Understanding of the following is required to be considered for this position:
Layer 2 and 3 Nexus (NX-OS) applications
Unified Computing System administration and troubleshooting
Network connectivity troubleshooting
These items would be nice to have
Familiarity with VMWare Technologies is a plus
Familiarity with Citrix Xen Desktop technologies a plus
Required Experience
Typically requires BS/BA degree in related field or equivalent plus 1-2 years of related experience:
- Experience with Data Center service monitoring.
- Knowledgeable in and have experience supporting IT infrastructure and applications.
- Basic understanding of ITIL Incident Management principles and ability to apply best practices.
- Must demonstrate strategic thinking skills and maturity in tackling complex problems, dealing with people, technology and processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communications skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with team members and internal management.
- Demonstrates a high level of energy, results driven and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
