The Business Banking Group Manager is responsible for implementing, coordinating and overseeing a group of Business Banking Relationship Managers and Assistants to ensure the Bank's growth, profitability and efficiency targets are met.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting required.
5+ years’ experience in sales and marketing with a focus on business banking or business lending required.
3+ years of management experience leading a business banking / commercial banking sales team is required.
Demonstrated ability to source and produce new business.
Proven experience in coaching and selling development skills
Experience originating loans and selling deposit & fee income products to business clients.
Thorough knowledge of banking products/services, banking operations, and current market trends
Excellent negotiating skills
Strong leadership and collaboration skills
Successful completion of formal credit training is preferred
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
High level of mathematical, finance and analytical skills.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
Computer, system and internet proficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, coach and evaluate staff to ensure specific sales, referral and credit goals are met.
Recruit, develop and motivate a dynamic and high performing team.
Ensure self and team proactively identifies and participates in community, bank & CRA opportunities.
Ensure team and branch partners have access to adequate training and development opportunities.
Focus on employee and client experience
Monitor team's loan delinquencies and maturities, ensuring that they are kept to within acceptable standards.
Support submission of complete applications to loan center, ensuring the deals are consistent with Bank policies.
Prepare/present reports as necessary to objectively measure performance regarding goals, targets and strategic initiatives.
Manage team within expense budget. Focus on profitable growth.
Drive sales calling efforts w/prospects, COIs and clients.
Establish and maintain a network of resources with team. Form working relationships with internal and external referral sources.
Monitor and grow the team's existing loan portfolio and deposit base. Drive fee income.
Assist with driving strategy and identifying avenues of growth.
Recruit and retain talent, with focus on maintaining full employment.
Other duties as assigned.
