Digilent is seeking a Product Marketing Engineer for our Seattle office.
Description: Develops marketing plans, marketing strategy, and forecasts for assigned product lines. Maintains current status of customer requirements for existing and future products. Identifies, evaluates and recommends marketing opportunities consistent with product line objectives. Serves as the internal and external evangelist for the specific product(s) or product line(s) by creating compelling messages and demonstrating the benefits and capabilities.
Develop deep knowledge of the product application segment(s), including technical and business requirements and key trends.
Market intelligence—be the expert on our buyers, who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria.
Understand the competitive landscape—be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned.
Define the go-to-market strategy and marketing plan for the assigned product family and align both sales and marketing functions on the strategy.
Execute the go-to-market strategy and marketing plan for the assigned product family by coordinating cross functional efforts across the organization.
Build relevant technical content and assets for buyer roles to consume in a variety of formats, including white papers, blog posts, case studies, multi-media, brochures, product demonstrations, events, and online media.
Develop content for enablement of our distribution channels.
Collaborate with marketing communications to develop product positioning and messaging that resonate with our target buyer personas.
Understand and document our buyer’s process, including where they get information, and the who, what, when and why behind the decisions they make. Then drive changes to our sales and marketing processes based on what you learn.
Assess the effectiveness of the marketing programs that support your products on an ongoing basis, and report back to the business on required changes.
Plan the launches of new products and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan.
Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support externally, including speaking engagements and written works.
Collaborate with the Offering Management function and R&D to influence design decisions.
Collaborate with Offering Management function to perform market segmentation/sizing and inform forward investment strategy.
Co-market and collaborate with partners.
BS Engineering/Computer Science degree or equivalent
3+ years’ experience in technical marketing
Strong communication skills, including technical writing and presenting
Self-motivated with a focus on results
Domain knowledge of the electronics design process and embedded development preferred
Domain knowledge of FPGA development a plus
Travel: approximately once/quarter, perhaps internationally
