We are seeking a talented Transportation Design Engineer in our San Luis Obispo, California office for our transportation services team. This is an opportunity to leverage your local knowledge and be involved in challenging projects that will offer an opportunity to provide technical solutions.
Qualified candidates will be responsible for independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables. Receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and is reviewed for application of sound professional judgment
Perform work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, reports and analyses with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents
Complete transportation planning and/or design projects in conformance with company Procedures Manual and Agency Standards May be assisted by engineers or technicians and aid in the direction of work on larger projects
May be responsible for all phases of smaller revenue-producing projects
Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related degree - OSHA training a plus
Professional Registration is required for the position but may be waived with significant project design experience.
Proficient in Traffic Modeling, Simulation and Analysis software and/or proficiency in AutoCAD design software is required
A minimum of 3-4 years of Engineering or related work experience
