Job Description:

Tool & Die Specialist, Plastics

Responsibilities

* Maintain mold PM system, including detailed work instructions and manage on schedule completion of PM activities

* Follow mold cleaning method and adherence to schedule

* Support defect troubleshooting procedures to minimize mold down times during production

* Support mold preparation check sheets and trial procedures

* Maintain mold spare parts lists and ensure parts are set up and in stock

* Identify and implement proactive systems to achieve consistent reduction in injection molding defects and productivity concerns

* Support development of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for production molds to identify critical risks and develop appropriate control plans

Requirements

* 5+ years hands on experience working in mold maintenance and repair

* Willingness to relocate and travel

* Shift flexibility

* Strong analytic problem solving skills

* Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail

* Work efficiently and productively in independent and team settings

* Communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills

* Experience with interpretation of dimensional inspection results (checking fixture, CMM or vision system)

* Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines

* Remain engaged, proactive and positive in tough circumstances, owning assignments and taking full accountability for their success

* Ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (efficiency, quality, safety, throughput, costs)

* Experience in new vehicle development and launch activities

* Fluent with common MS office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

* Welding experience preferred
