Baker Electric is hiring a Project Manager for our LA County territory in the Cerritos office.

Join our LA new construction team as a Project Manager today to successfully manage electrical work in the $5mm - $30mm range using the best software and having support of a strong and intelligent team. 

We’re looking for a Project Manager who is highly organized, self-sufficient, and has proven success in managing electrical projects. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  


  • Monitoring continual project costs and onsite activities.  

  • Addressing and preventing cost overruns.  

  • Forecasting project financials.  

  • Prepare and submit project billings.  

  • Identifying, submitting and seeking approval for scope change orders.  

  • Identifying, preventing and limiting exposure to project schedule delays.  

  • Managing the prime contract execution process.  

  • Audit subcontractor scopes of work and create subcontracts.  

  • Participate in project pre-planning.  

  • Lead the project material procurement effort.  

  • Assist with creation of purchase orders.  

  • Create and monitor approval of project material submittals.  

  • Create and monitor responses of project RFI’s  

EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES


  • 5+ years of experience in Electrical Project Management (Construction Management, Estimating and/or Project Management)

  • 3+ years of general knowledge of contract law and project accounting is required.  

  • Successful graduation of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program, Electrical B.S.E.E. Engineering Degree, or related Field Construction Management Degree.   

  • Proficiency in MS Office, Office 365, SharePoint 

  • Proficiency in construction management and estimating software, such as, BlueBeam and Accubid 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, professional understanding of communication needed 

  • Understanding of risk management
