Summary of Job: To promote high quality and timely processing of new and renewing Individual (SOLO) and Small Group Applications. To ensure prompt communication to applicants and brokers on the status of their applications.
Modifies, updates, and processes existing individual (SOLO) and/or small group policies to reflect any change in benefit coverage including renewal responses and small group renewal certification forms.
Supports testing activities for all appropriate corporate and departmental project initiatives that impact individual and/or small group installation.
Reviews and processes all new Individual (SOLO) and/or Small Group applications. Ensures that applications are batched, imaged, and indexed correctly within established timeliness standards and achieving defined accuracy targets.
Initiates and maintains direct communication with applicants, underwriting and/or brokers as necessary to resolve outstanding issues on New or Pended Applications.
Generates all application correspondence to ensure applicants and brokers are informed of the status of their applications within established timing standards.
Creates data feed interface to manage small group HRA requests and deliver member reimbursement claim files to vendors.
Provides customer service support to HRA vendors to resolve claim and data interface issues.
Assists with the review and resolution of system errors to ensure timely and accurate enrollment of Individual (SOLO) and Small Group members. Works with Individual and Small Group Installation Coordinator and IS Staff to develop and implement system fixes as necessary.
Provides necessary support to the Individual & Small Group Installation Coordinator as needed.
Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills Qualifications:
Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a health care environment performing group installation and enrollment functions
At least 1 year of previous experience in an HMO, self-insured insurance or health care field including broker and client customer service required
Knowledge of benefit structure, underwriting guidelines, and enrollment application requirements helpful
Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills required. Customer service experience preferred
Strong data entry skills and experience with Microsoft Office software is required
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills including inventory management
Essential Job Requirements:
Must be able to use standard office equipment.
