Lasko Products is looking for an experienced quality leader to collaboratively define a vision around Quality and build the strategy, process, and tools to achieve it. This role leads both domestic and international quality teams and will be responsible for quality assurance at a plant level as well as for sourced goods. The Director of Quality Assurance will be expected to champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to establish an effective Total Quality Management System. The Director of Quality will have a domestic team of 15 personal reporting directly to him or her with an additional team of 30 international quality personnel that have indirect reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the charge on defining a quality mindset with your peers in engineering and production
Build and deploy the necessary quality process that enables our teams to exceed our customer's expectations of Lasko's quality
Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing early in the design stage in order to build quality into the product design and manufacturing process.
Lead and organize formal/informal problem solving in areas of scrap, process capability warranty, etc. Provide training in quality systems and related areas such as APQP, BOS, Problem Solving, Statistical Process Control, Gage R&R and DOE
Develops, implements, manages and integrates a QMS for manufacturing plants.
Develops quality planning methods for all product lines.
Lead and coach a diverse set of quality engineers and managers tasked with automated and manual testing as well as building the internal tools and infrastructure to efficiently execute this testing
Designs, implements and documents procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection requirements and frequency
Establishes and implements metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make sound product quality decisions
Establishes collection and analysis systems of statistical data to predict trends that will affect improvement of product quality
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer or related field
Minimum of 5 Years of Experience in leading large quality teams
Experience with ISO/TS16949 (PPAP, APQP, FMEA, etc.)
Expertise in Quality Management Systems Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Black Belt Required
Strong ability to develop talent
