Summary of Role

Oversee, manage and create content development for the organization’s enterprise content development team, leading on the execution of original, compelling, persuasive, high-quality content by collaborating with business owners around the world. Lead the overall content direction through refinement, presentation and implementation. Oversee the integration of our brand’s tone of voice for a variety of design mediums, including projects related to key organizational priorities. Oversee implementation of new Content Studio editorial services and production flow.


Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of consistently high quality enterprise content.

  • Develop accurate and compelling thought leadership-oriented content to be used in developing omnichannel deliverables

  • Develop content with measurable outcomes, based on organizational priorities. These may include pageviews, downloads, plays, shares and overall reader satisfaction as measured in monthly evaluations and annual user surveys. Focus areas generally include:

  • Writing reports

  • Providing subject matter expertise to content team, contributing to overall content pipeline

  • development, handling additional content and editing of content outside as needed

  • Oversee multi-platform, omnichannel content projects that may include reports, case studies, articles and other content of various content types

  • Oversee development of content concepts and test them, where needed, using member research and engagement metrics, editorial adviser feedback and other sources

  • Produce high-quality, independently written content that drives revenue and engagement and meet member need

  • Lead as content subject matter expert on projects related to key organizational priorities

  • Guide staff in implementing standards of editorial excellence, ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability

  • Raise quality expectations by demonstrating and communicating the importance of branded content

  • Deliver customer-ready content to be used and repurposed for campaign-specific objectives

  • Create content packages with multiple content “types” targeted to specific channels and outcomes

  • Be accountable for fast turn-around of accelerated projects under tight deadlines

  • Lead creative pitches and client presentations

  • Generate solutions to maintain creative integrity and balance business priorities

  • Coach junior copywriters and colleagues without writing backgrounds

  • Champion tone of voice with business owners, communicating the value and demonstrating best practice

  • Update tone of voice training materials and develop new modules

  • Manage content approvals, applying organizational sensitivities during review process

  • Review and approve drafts and readers for accuracy, prior to release to project management

  • Keep up with latest trends and best practices and train content staff on a quarterly basis

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Outlook

  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Workfront a plus

  • Because the client’s work is deadline driven with firm dates that must be hit, weekend and evening hours may be required to meet schedules

  • Excellent command of English language including ability to write clearly, using broad vocabulary and accurate grammar.

Required Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • 4-6 years’ experience in copywriting, corporate communication and/or general marketing communication

  • Bachelor’s degree in creative writing, journalism, marketing/communication or related field

Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education

  • Master’s degree in creative writing, journalism, marketing/communications or related field
