Job Summary: The Water Systems Operator I performs duties including but not limited to: installing, maintaining, and repairing water mains, water services, pipes, pumps, wells; operate computer equipment, operate process equipment; operate, maintain and repair storage tanks and other water facilities; use tools and operate power-driven equipment necessary for the performance of the work; understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions; conduct work in a manner that is prompt and courteous, while maintaining good public relations; and be able to work independently and/or on a crew.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills Required:
Graduation from High School or GED equivalent is required.
A valid California Class "C" driver's license is required.
Must maintain satisfactory DMV record and ability to maintain insurability.
Possession of a Grade I Water Distribution Certificate and possession of a Grade I Water Treatment Certificate State of California Department of Health Service is required.
