The Research Manager will lead the IDC Global Supply Chain Execution Strategies program focusing on best practice, trends, market conditions, business concerns, and vendor offerings to provide authoritative advice on investment, life-cycle management, and use of inventory management, warehouse management, logistics, and omni-channel distributed order orchestration processes and applications. The focus will be on helping retail and manufacturing companies spot and prioritize opportunities, save time, minimize cost, and mitigate risk, while also helping technology vendors develop and market products and services that meet market needs. Specific attention is given to the drivers, benefits, processes, uses cases, and best practices related to inventory management, warehouse management, logistics, and omni-channel distributed order orchestration to support IT leaders at top retail and manufacturing companies around the globe.
The Research Manager is expected to:
Grow the Global Supply Chain Execution Strategies research program through thought leadership and business development
Meet the research requirements of Global Supply Chain program
Support client inquiry related to research reports and topics pertinent to research
Coordinate the Global Supply Chain Execution Strategies research with other regions
Contribute research and thought leadership to consulting projects
Collaborate with IDC colleagues on Blockchain, IoT, Robotics, AR, AI and ML
At least 5-7 years working with IT, in the retail, supply chain or technology research industry
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree is a plus
Experience in understanding the research needs of clients
Ability to quickly synthesize data from various sources – interviews, surveys, secondary research and other IDC research
Excellent speaking skills
Excellent writing skills
Facility with the use of MS Excel and PowerPoint
