Direct and manage all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production, maintenance, quality, continuous improvement and other production-related activities.
Ensure that manufacturing deadlines and budgets are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provides the vision, leadership, and coaching needed to develop and maintain the competencies, performance, and collaboration of plant supervisors and departmental employees
Drive positive change in all aspects of plant operations using continuous improvement tools and methodologies, teamwork and shop floor metrics, to include quality, cost, delivery, safety and housekeeping
Works close with all departments to ensure that operations of the company support company goals
Coordinates plant profit forecasting and operating statements involving production estimates, raw material cost, labor cost, supplies, machinery maintenance and repair, etc. to keep plant operating at a profitable margin and losses at a minimum
Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards
Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division
Regular and predictable attendance, safely perform tasks, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of your job.
Skills, Knowledge, and Ability Requirements
To be considered for a Plant Manager position, the following conditions must be met:
6+ years of manufacturing management experience
Understands production planning concepts
Possess a working knowledge of Lean concepts, assembly, materials, maintenance, quality programs, repair of buildings and equipment and safety programs
Possess a working knowledge of company financials: P&L, managing budgets and expenditures, marginal contributions, etc.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.
Must be computer literate with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision
