MTM, Inc. continues to grow and we are seeking an Assistant Program Director!

 The Assistant Program Director will play a key role in the management, training, and development of staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes. The Assistant program Director will act as the deputy liaison between MTM and the Division of Medicaid when necessary. The ultimate objective of this position is to monitor day to day activity of local Operations and Network staff and to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for passengers while adhering to specific health plan protocols and MTM policies/procedures and staying within budget.

This position is located in our Charleston, WV office.


  • Maintain required staffing levels through timely recruitment and training of qualified candidates

  • Provide employee development, through motivation, constructive feedback, coaching, training, and applying mentorship techniques

  • Provide answers/guidance to all team members

  • Responsible for maintaining the scheduling and time and attendance of direct reports, including approval/denial of time off requests

  • Assist Workforce Management in resolving any issues

  • Administer monthly/yearly employee performance evaluations as well as periodic reviews against goals and objectives and ensure feedback is provided to employees

  • Administer all staff discipline, including termination

  • Ensure department policies are followed and staff attends mandatory training sessions

  • Attend and represent MTM in unemployment hearings involving direct reports.  Conduct project status meetings to identify problems and ensure that deliverables are met

  • Conduct and process disciplinary actions and terminations as needed

  • Actively seek opportunities for departmental process improvement initiatives

  • Assist Regional Vice President with compiling department metrics

  • Primary contact with other departments within MTM

  • Ensure work is completed in an accurate and timely fashion

  • Provide Regional Vice President, Southern Operations with correspondence, assistance and feedback for departmental strategic planning sessions and for the development of new/revised procedures

  • Ensure all required reports are submitted timely and accurately

  • Monitor workload for the coming weeks and recommend course of action necessary to meet demands

  • Ensure team members have adequate support to ensure deadlines are met

  • Implement best practices to maximize efficiencies

  • Ensure all team members follow MTM’s documented policies

  • Define and document all processes and work flows

  • Ensure information is protected by conforming to MTM’s HIPAA standards

  • Define and document all training manual materials

  • Keep abreast of changes to NET program rules, regulations and policies

  • Collaborate directly with other departments to establish the departmental business rules that will provide the foundation of the program’s data quality, processing and improvement plan

  • Ensure ongoing collaboration with internal and external partners to ensure effective processes are in place and in line with corporate goals

  • Meet regularly with transportation providers, facilities and internal departments to ensure safe and quality transportation services are being delivered

  • Work with the Client, NET providers, and facilities to follow through on service issues, trouble-shooting problems and concerns, complaints and education

  • Act as liaison between MTM and external stakeholders to education on MTM services and ensure customer satisfaction

  • Work closely with local and satellite offices and personnel

  • Manage dotted line responsibilities with Managers at the corporate office

  • Ensure good working relationships and high levels of communication among office staff, MTM departments, client, stakeholders and other vendors working within defined contracts

  • Comply with corporate policies and procedures

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (or equivalent experience) in a related field

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Previous supervisory/management experience

  • Project Management certification a plus

  • Prior experience in the transportation industry a plus

  • Minimum of five years’ experience managing a medium-sized operation

  • Previous experience working with Medicaid and/or State programs preferred

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
