Enterprise Scheduling - Infrastructure Analyst III at m&t in Amherst, New York

Job Description:

Completes activities related to larger and/or highly complex installations, configurations, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Ensures system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff and partners. Participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

Responsible for providing support for ICC processing operations using specialized tools such as scheduling and automation products/processes. Responsible for providing support to application development projects/changes for multiple assigned applications utilizing CA7 and Automic Scheduling to ensure no errors are present prior to the migration to production. Responsible for providing support to the ICC, application development, and client area staffs by researching and assisting with the resolution of application production issues involving scheduling.

Perform scheduling functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Perform system administration functions in accordance with SOP.

Respond to and resolve to help desk escalations of a highly complex nature; identify root causes of system issues and work with partner teams to fix the root cause.
Create and document procedures for work order and request-based tasks.
Respond to and resolve identified technical incidents requiring expert problem-solving based on mastery of system and adjoining systems.
Use advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues.
Complete systems maintenance activities following SOP, such as patching, health checks, operating system updates, validating changes and maintaining operational and configuration standards. Research options when anomalies occur and choose best course of action, including identifying root cause of analogies in procedures.
Schedule maintenance changes to reduce operational risk.
Participate in project work in cross-functional teams; lead technical team within a project and provide input to design efforts.
Provide training to less experienced staff.
Complete evening responsibilities as scheduled.
Initiate, create and document procedures for maintenance tasks and other needs to serve as a reference source.
Use tools to help automate processes and make systems more efficient, manageable, available, and secure.
Participate in and support capacity planning and development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with Engineering and Architecture departments.

Open, update, review and finalize changes. Provide support for Application Development changes.

Understand Infrastructure Command Center fundamentals including JCL, Job Scheduling and File Transfer Protocols.

Understand CA7 and Automic scheduling fundamentals

Assist Systems Technology, Storage Admin, Cybersecurity, and Application Development with application set up.

Develop understanding of all products utilized by Enterprise Scheduling Services.

Testing and implementation support through certification and production.

24x7 On Call Support

Provide level 2 support for the Infrastructure Command Center and Application Development.

Problem analysis

React timely to problem situations and maintain professionalism at all times

Provide support for all acquisitions

Provide support for all Disaster Recovery testing

Understand concepts of File Transfer Protocols

Understand firewalls and how they work in a distributed environment.

Production monitoring.

Validation testing for patches/updates and mainframe upgrades.

Act as a leader within the team.

Provide direction to fellow team members

Assist in the development and maintenance of operational procedures

Participate in proposals for processing improvements

Ability to work effectively under pressure

Participate in the development of Disaster Recovery processing

Provide leadership during Disaster Recovery scenarios (test, live)

Assist Application Development and fellow team members in the development of complex batch scheduling scenarios

Make recommendations to enhance current operating procedures

Provide training to new employees.

Take leadership role in projects involving multiple applications

Work with Engineering in support of installing updates, security patches and registry updates.

Design network diagrams, Job Flows and documentation.

Complete other related duties as assigned.

Understand and adhere to the Company's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company's Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

Nature and Scope:

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 6 years' higher education and/or work experience
Prior experience reading and digesting technical information

3+ years Automic and CA7 experience

5 years of IBM Mainframe, Windows or Unix systems experience

Oracle/SQL database administration experience a plus.


Scheduling knowledge and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience interpreting and/or discussing terminology or concepts not familiar to many people with others
Strong customer focus, including ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities
Prior project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in technology-related field
Minimum of 12 years' higher education and/or work experience
Certifications or special training in related technologies
Prior experience leading technical teams toward a common goal or project within a larger project
