Position Overview:

CCI is hiring a Meteorologist in Houston, TX to support Natural Gas trading activities. No prior experience in energy commodities or a trading is required for this role. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals that are looking to leverage their prior weather experience to transition into a trading environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop process to analyze & interpret weather models for North America.
  • Generate forecasts of temperature and rainfall for North America.
  • Research seasonal forecasting, ocean forecasting and climate prediction
  • Manage the weather and climate data process.
  • Manage and develop firm's weather analytic tools.
  • Produce forecast reports and distribute to trading teams.
  • Educate traders on weather and be available for questions.
  • Report on research and incorporate promising results into process and analytics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Masters in Atmospheric Sciences or related field of study is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in a meteorologist role at a weather data provider. No prior experience in trading/energy commodities is required.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Strong technical experience is required (Databases, Exl, VBA)
