GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION
Manage the daily assembly operations
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Assigned daily job assignments to Assembly Product Tech
Monitor the skill level of all Assembly Product Tech and that all receive needed training
Monitor all reporting of production activities to insure accuracy and to identify areas for improvement
Manage manpower roster to reduce overtime costs
Act as liaison between Assembly Product Tech, Team Leaders and Support Technicians to minimize downtime
Support the Assembly Product Tech and Team Leaders to maximize production and quality to minimizing downtime and scrap
Promote team involvement activities to improve systems used in the Assembly area
Additional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change
Lead Metalsa Operating System implementation and deployment
Follow and adhere to proper escalation process
Work in a safe manner and encourage others to do so.
Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately
Follow proper reporting protocol for accidents/injuires/near misses
Use our Innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant
Be proactively involved with improving working conditions.
Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them
Teach and utilize quality gates to ensure quality standards are met
Lead area in achieving plant quality objectives/goals
100% on-time delivery to customer
0 PPM on parts
Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them
Lead/Participate in formal problem solving sessions to address customer issues
Maintain the appearance of a World Class Facility
Actively support full implementation of the 5S's, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat and properly maintained.
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/ TRAINING
Actively involved with the Metalsa Operating System
ACADEMICS AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA
Two (2) years of advanced education or associates degree, or 5 years of supervisory experience
Proven Team building and leading experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with systems like: Quality Operating Systems, PM Systems, Scheduling, Production Systems, Kronos timekeeping, Lean Manufacturing, Formal Problem solving 5 why, 8D, Fishbone, 5s , Kanban, Kaizen events
Automotive manufacturing / Mechanical background
High School degree/diploma
Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, planning, team orientation and presentation skills
Good computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point)
Safety and Quality oriented
Good organizational and time skills
Metalsa Model (MOS and QWL)
Prompt and regular attendance
Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive attitude
Basic Lean Manufacturing (TPS)
Capacity to manage resources and activities in order to obtain results
Capable of performing in a fast paced, high stressed environment
Must be willing to work overtime with little or no notice (no 2-day notice)
Able to work any shift
