LITHO PRESS OPERATOR AND ASSISTANT SET UP
Must progress from Litho Stacker, to Litho Feeder then Litho Press Set Up and Operator
Must be able to use scale and margin guides
Perform all press make-ready functions: hang plates,
Bring and maintain ink settings to and at proper levels.
Verify job ticket specifications and assure that all materials needed to produce jobs are available.
Run print jobs upon obtaining quality check approval from group leader or manager.
Maintain consistency of quality throughout press runs.
Remove plates and inks and wash-up press upon completion of orders and otherwise maintain the press in good working order.
Troubleshoot problems with jobs and/or press as necessary.
Report any press malfunctions or problems with jobs which cannot be easily resolved to either group leader or manager.
Report any shortage or low level of press room supplies to group leader or manager.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Performs other production tasks associated with Offset Printing.
Performs other general tasks, not of a personal nature, as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Wet Sheet Visual Inspection
Must be able to visually inspect wet sheets for gloss, inform lay down, and margin contamination
Measure the margin at the end of the sheet and between bodies.
For varnish applications it is required that the varnish does not exceed the margin blocks
If the results of the visual inspection are not acceptable or the margins are out of specification
Must make adjustments as necessary
Must notify the supervisor
Must HFI any suspect material for evaluation
Inspect three sheets from each load for print registration. When inspecting verify.
That the inside or outside coatings match the layout of the lithography
That the registration is acceptable using the registration crosshairs as a guide
If any sheets are found unacceptable
Notify the supervisor
Make necessary corrections
HFI any suspect material for evaluation
Job Requirements Requirements:
Available for any shift.
Able to lift 45 pounds.
Work jobs that have repetitive motion.
Implement and follow safe work practices and rules.
Able to prove they have a right to work in the United States.
Successfully pass a physician's examination, drug screen and background check.
Wiling to have a baseline audio metric test.
Prefer high school graduate or GED.
Sufficient work experience to be successful on the job.
