Performs welding plumbing, electrical and carpentry and minor construction. May be required to perform some custodial duties.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of packaging and production machines.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
Use power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
Services equipment by oiling, greasing, and coolants as required.
Operate forklift and other basic loading and unloading equipment as required, to move machine chips, and hazardous material.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Ability to perform physical tasks involving bending, squatting, standing for extended periods of time, pushing, reaching and some lifting. • Committed to quality service. • Displays a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Works with minimal supervision. Demonstrates responsible behavior and attention to detail. • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and Holidays. • Ability to fluently read, work and follow instructions in English. • Possess a Class C, California Driver’s License. • Maintain good driver safety record. (Must provide DMV record annually). • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with Work Authorization • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position.
Preferred Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• Four years of general maintenance and repair. Experience on CNC lathe and mills or equivalent combination of experience will be considered. • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Good communication skills. • Good numerical and reasoning ability. • Ability to organize tasks and work with others.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Have successfully completed a maintenance mechanic trade program.
Experience with electronics, PLCs, and electronic maintenance technology required.
Technical training; exposure to high-speed equipment.
2+ years of related experience in packing machines/production machines.
