Department Overview

The OHSU University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) is an organization that supports people with disabilities throughout Oregon. The UCEDD works in collaboration with other State agencies and other UCEDD organizations across the country to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities or special health needs. Through leadership and effective partnerships with individuals, families, communities, and public and private agencies, UCEDD strive to serve as an exemplary local, state, and national resources through excellence in interdisciplinary education, clinical practice, research, community service, and policy development.

Function/Duties of Position

The purpose of this position is to fulfill a sub-contract with the state of Oregon Department of Human Services by conducting an assigned percentage of 400 adult consumers of state DD services for the National Core Indicators project. Research Assistant will schedule and conduct face to face interviews with study participants in a community setting. In addition to Survey Interviewer responsibilities, the Lead Survey Interviewer will perform Assistant Project Coordinator duties, including:
  • Assist with planning and implementation of surveyor training
  • Coordination and planning for travel interviews
  • Supporting Research Assistants in the field
  • Quality Assurance - monitor data quality in ODESA
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree OR Associates' degree with 3 yrs relevant work experience with individuals with disabilities or have a family member with a disability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • National Core Indicator Surveyor Training
  • Interviewing experience
  • Research experience
