Job Description 

Assist Engineer/Scientist in all aspects of product development and new processes to meet market needs. This involves producing samples per plan, product testing and characterization with minimal guidance.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Perform laboratory work involving development and scale up of processes for electronic packaging products as assigned.

  • Batch formulas, process into products, perform applicable tests, create lot records, communicate results and observations to the Engineer/Scientist, and perform any necessary fixes.

  • Become proficient in operation of appropriate manufacturing equipment and test instruments.

  • Understand the KOP documentation trail from shop orders, requisitions of raw materials, lot numbering, specifications, tagging, Certificate of Analysis, shipping, etc.

  • Familiarize yourself with KOP ISO procedures and practice them.

  • Maintain lab notebooks to organize, analyze, and record your work.

  • Perform R&D inventory of raw materials, finished products, and reclaim metals.  Properly dispose of unwanted or old documents.

  • Practice good housekeeping, organization, and safety in the laboratories.  Identify and use safety labels on product containers.

  • Miscellaneous duties may include customer/vendor interface and attendance at local technical conferences.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

 Associates degree with 2 years college level Chemistry and/or Physics preferred, or 4+ years’ experience as a laboratory technician in the electronic materials or related industry.  Knowledge of common laboratory safety practices.   Ability to read, write and speak English. 

Travel Requirements: 

Generally travel is not expected or required, but travel to customers or technical conference may occur as needed by the business.
