Production Operator – Tacoma, Washington

If so, check out what we have to offer! Georgia-Pacific Gypsum in Tacoma, WA has an immediate need for Production Operators to work in a variety of departmental positions. This union facility produces ToughRock and DensGuard gypsum products used throughout Washington, Oregon, and Western Canada. The plant began operating in 1981 and is located in the Port of Tacoma.

This is an entry level position starting at $17.12 per hour.

 

A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

 


  • Operating production equipment and machinery  

  • Performing quality checks on products

  • Relieving operator positions for breaks

  • Working as a team to exceed safety, production, and quality goals

  • Keeping work area clean before, during and after shift

  • Assisting crew members with setups, troubleshooting, asset care duties and making minor machine adjustments

  • Entering data to maintain accurate records of orders shipped

 

What You Will Need:


Basic Qualifications:

 


  • High School diploma or GED

  • A minimum of six (6) months of work experience working within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, farming or warehouse environment OR military experience

  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays

  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment

  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment

  • Willing and able to climb stairs, ladders, and/or work in high places

  • Willing and able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day

 

What Will Put You Ahead?


Preferred Qualifications:

 


  • One (1) year or more of experience working within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, farming or warehouse environment

  • Experience operating a forklift

  • Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment


  • Experience using a computer, i.e. composing/sending emails and completing computer-based training
