Overview
The UX/UI Designer-Senior at Independent Health will envision how people experience our digital products and services and bring that vision to life ......"... taking complex tasks and transforming them into natural, simple, and delightful activities that drive up customer satisfaction and set the bar for high quality digital experiences in healthcare....  They will be executing interaction design and visual design as a part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with our UX/UI Design team, Digital Product Management, Development, Marketing, other internal business stakeholders, as well as external vendors. The Designer will be responsible for managing our company Digital Style Guide: working closely with Marketing to ensure that it is well aligned with our corporate Brand Guidelines and ensuring that it is kept up to date and in a usable format for all consuming stakeholders.

The ... UX/UI Designer-Senior will define, manage, and be responsible for the effectiveness of an end-to-end design process aligned to industry best practices that produce high quality digital UX and UI: customer research, usability testing, wireframes, concepting and prototyping, creating high fidelity designs, producing assets for implementation, creating implementation specifications for software development teams, and applying quality control through the use of style guides and review processes....  ... They will be responsible to manage the deliverables of both external design vendors (i.e. agency supported work) and partners (i.e. platform providers that do custom work for us)....  It is expected that the Designer continuously research interaction design, visual design, and other related technology trends and appropriately inform your work and the work of other UX/UI designers on the team through changes to policies, style guide, tooling, and processes....  It will be the Designer.........s duty to uphold and socialize standards and best practices among all of your stakeholders in and outside of the company.

The UX/UI Designer-Senior will work closely with the Director, Online Engagement and Senior Digital Product Managers to assist with the overall online engagement strategy and execution....  If designated, they will have direct accountability for other UX/UI designer(s) and will be directly responsible for the support and overall performance of the staff, as well as ongoing support of corporate initiatives....  Responsibilities also include promoting teamwork while accentuating a customer focused, performance-based work environment.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor.........s degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, or CS.Four (4) years ... of related experience may be considered in Lieu of degree.

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional user experience and user interface design, and/or visual design for software, and/or web and mobile applications in an iterative/agile software development environment.

  • Application must be accompanied with a portfolio (online/interactive preferred).

  • Proficiency with industry standard graphic and interaction design tools (i.e. Photoshop, XD, Illustrator, Sketch).

  • Strong visual and graphic design aesthetic with keen attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and visual design comps.

  • Proven ability to generate design specifications and style guides to effectively communicate visual and interactive design requirements to development and QA.

  • Highly knowledgeable with responsive web design principles.

  • Stays on top of digital trends, emerging technologies, and new tools that can be leveraged to enhance our UX.

  • Experience collaborating on user experience and visual design with digital product managers, developers, and other business stakeholders at a detail-level to collectively and iteratively realize a final product.

  • Working knowledge of Information Design (ID) and Information Architecture (IA) best practices.

  • Working knowledge of user-centered research including user interviews, usability testing, intercept surveys, etc.

  • Working knowledge of jQuery, Angular JS, Bootstrap, and other common frontend development frameworks.

  • Proven ability to act as a leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale, all within a user-centered design (UCD) process.

  • Strong conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills, and sketchbook technique.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven examples of displaying the IH values: Passionate, Caring, Respectful, Trustworthy, Collaborative and Accountable.

  • Preferred Experience:


  • Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile, Android and iOS.

  • Experience managing other UX/UI designers.

  • Experience developing a UX/UI design workflow integrated into a broader SDLC within an enterprise environment.

  • Experience with Design Sprints.

  • Experience working in tandem with and managing deliverables of external UX/UI and usability testing resources.

  • Experience coding HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • Icon/glyph design experience.
